I created a Custom Motion Clip to apply a self-made animation to future avatars. But when I apply it, it also changes the avatar’s pose. I only want to transfer the motion—not the pose. How can I keep the avatar’s current pose while applying the animation?
Many thanks for considering my request!

So the Custom Motion Clip copies everything—including the pose. So that was the idea, that everything was copied.
I tried your idea, but the motion still transitions back into the original pose. If I want to change that, I’d basically have to redo the entire animation anyway.
I was hoping this option could be used as a shortcut, but I guess that’s not really possible. Too bad! Oh well… I guess there’s no other way. I’ll just have to recreate the full animation whenever my avatar has a different pose.
Let me reiterate what animagic said.
Pose=Motion
There is difference between them.
Pose is a motion clip consisting of 1 frame.
Motion Clip is a collection of sequential Poses.
When you copy/paste a Pose to another clip, the entire sequence gets an initial offset.
But the target clip has to be flatten i.e. there should not be any other visible keys for entire duration. Otherwise it will transition from the pasted offset back to the key next to it.
Alternatively you may paste a pose to a new animation layer - that would not require original layer to be flatten.
After pasting a pose you may arbitrary remove undesired keys for individual bone groups if necessary. I have shown that in a video.
Thank you for your reply! I appreciate your help, but unfortunately, it didn’t solve the issue. I copied the pose, applied the Motion Clip, and then removed the relevant keyframes. However, when I played the animation, the original pose still appeared. I was hoping this method would resolve the issue, but it didn’t work as expected. Any additional guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Do you also know a solution to my other problem? Somehow, I inadvertently recorded the adjustments I made to my avatar’s pose and now, when I want to start the animations, the avatar changes into a different pose, and the camera zooms out—automatically. There are no visible keyframes in the timeline, that I can see. These changes seem to be baked into the project.
I hope you can shed some light on this. I’ve been at it for a couple of hours, tried different things, but nothing works. https://youtu.be/DDX6N7smEtk
