I have searched a lot of websites and have found a lot of people that would buy Iclone 8 but just cannot afford it. I remember when they were starting out. yes, I was there and it was affordable. As time went on it was still “Affordable”, But now it is not. I wonder how many people have left; I will research this in the near future. You know it’s Microsoft wanting you to Upgrade to a new Computer or Reallusion wanting you to Upgrade to the newest version, which is good, But Expensive now days. Not to mention the extra software you have to buy or rent, if you want to Create something. What happened to the membership Discounts? Pretty Cheap, I think. Sneaky, and you Pay for everything. Not only that you only get 50% of what you Create. So, hey CEO, make it “Affordable” again. You do not need that extra tie. Maybe a Senior Citizen Discount If a person proves it? Lower your Prices and get a lot more people on board. I Can Break it all down for all the Cost it Costs the Consumer. Total Cost with all the software and Computer Upgrades Depending what the consumer wants… 3500 to 4000 Dollars. Who can Afford that now days…
Reallusion has bluntly stated( in a forum post), that the individual
and casual hobbyist is no longer the target demographic.
They are marketing towards businesses and industries who could easily afford to buy the software outright or buy into their new subscription plan.
@owenssj1 Wait for the summer sale or Black Friday. If you put the products you want on your Reallusion account wishlist, you’ll get a notification if the price goes down. 50% discounts are possible.
Additionally, the next best moment to get into iClone is probably the introduction of iClone 9. I assume that Reallusion will then have another sale, where they offer iClone 9 (+ maybe CC5) for free, if you buy a certain amount of stuff in their stores, about $400-500. They did these kind of sales in the past during new software releases. Then you get the software plus the additional content or plugins you purchased.
The same happens if Reallusion releases new content packs or features. They usually have an early bird offer with a good discount.
Another good saving option is buying bundles. Content or software bundles are usually much cheaper than getting the included items individually. But it may take some time until the stuff you want is included in bundles.
I Appreciate the feedback, thanks. I think I will just get out of all of it. It was fun why it lasted. Take Care.
Hi everyone,
Thank you all for sharing your thoughts. We genuinely appreciate the feedback, and we want to clear up a misconception directly.
While iClone 8 and Character Creator 5 have been widely adopted by studios and we’re proud of the incredible showcases from professional productions, individual 3D creators remain at the heart of everything we do at Reallusion. That has not changed.
In fact, the subscription model was introduced specifically with indie creators in mind. We didn’t want anyone to feel pressured into a large upfront commitment right after a free trial, before they’ve had enough time to be sure our workflow truly fits their needs. The subscription gives you the flexibility to explore, create, and grow on your own terms.
Here’s a quick breakdown of our current annual plans (30% off):

• Character Creator 365 at $8.25/mo: CC5 with the all-new HD Morph system
