Clipping Beard Error

Hello dear Forum,

I have another question regarding the iClone to Blender Workflow.

As you can see in the screenshots, I have a model with a beard. When I animate it with Viseme, and then export it via the blender plugin, the lower part of the beard (its called “Circle_Thick” in iClone) clips through the Chin when he talks.

It’s a bit hard to explain with screenshots, I made a short video, which you can see here:

In iClone, it looks just fine.

AND the really weird part is: when I export it via this button

and then import it in blender via “Import Character” in the CC/iC Pipeline menu, SOMETIMES I get an python error, but it imports it just fine. But the real strange thing is, that the beard then locks to the chin just fine :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Can somebody help me with that issue??
Best Michael

Hello, I had this issue before, I found an easy solution for it.

Put your character in rest position, select the beard, add to it a surface deform modifier, select the body as the target, bind it.

After this, you can put back the characer in pose position. Now when you play/render the animation, the beard will move and deform with the expressions and viseme animation.

Hey

I actually just found the solution: I re-applied the CC4 Extended Facial Profile, that did the trick for me as it seems…

Dont want to necro the topic, but applying profiles doesnt help in my case at all. Is there any other solution ?

Same here, except I’m exporting to Cinema 4D.
