In addition to spending money to buy
the mandatory bundles to get version 5, passed off as free when it wasn’t free at all, I refurbished the pc hardware with overpriced graphics card, ram to the maximum capacity of the motherboard.
Now I end up with an unusable program, if before at every action it would freeze, now it is so slow that my trapezoidal muscle tract is inflamed to move the mouse, which seems to weigh a ton.
Truly an undignified thing.
I use version 4 and iClone exclusively, hoping there are no ‘enhancements’ that make even these two survivors unusable
I’m not sure what it is that is causing your issues, because I am using CC3, CC4 and CC5 in conjunction without any issues and I’m running on a laptop, with character designs that are pretty mesh intensive between amount of accessories, subdivisions and smooth mesh applied to hair and clothing items. And I never get slow downs. The only time I used to get slow downs or crashes were back a few updates ago when all of a sudden Iray Render began to clash with the program and was deemed to be obsolete by the team at RL. After I uninstalled Iray however, I haven’t had a speed or crash problem ever since. The only thing that seems to be slow is my import times into Unreal Engine, but they seem to be getting better with each update. So I’m not sure what’s causing the issue on your end. Would you mind sharing your machine specs?
Make sure the software is running on the GPU and not on the CPU. You can set this up in the Windows settings under System > Display > Graphics.
In addition to the good advice already given, do check if you are using a custom profile in your Nvidia Control Panel for 3D settings.
iClone and Character Creator work best when using the default “Application Controlled” profile in the Nvidia Control Panel. If you have customised this it could be causing the performance issues.
I don’t know if this information is useful to you, I should point out that I use two monitors,
not the same size (usually this delays the refresh), and that Reallusion programs are installed in the E:\ drive, and in the system drive ( C:\ ) I obviously find a lot of temporary data

I would like to thank Sophus, I put CC5 among the programs managed by Nvidia software, which I think corresponds to using the card’s vram and the GPU instead of Ram and CPU.
I had never done that, and now it is actually much faster. I tend toward pessimism so I won’'t say the last word, but it just feels like another program to me, as speed and avoidance of Bugs.
Sophus, a huge thank you from me.
