CC5 edit mesh not being applied

I’m editing some shoes in CC with edit mesh sculpt. When i have finished editing, i click the edit mesh button to exit and the shoes revert to the original state without the changes being applied. How can i make sure the edit is applied?

Hi,

Thank you for reporting the issue.
However, I wasn’t able to reproduce the issue.

Normally, exiting edit mesh would automatically save your sculpt result.
Could you provide screen recording of your workflow for us to check if there’s any bug? If you don’t mind, sending the project file would also be very helpful!

You can post the link here or send it to my e-mail: alanyang@reallusion.com

Thanks!

Hi Alan, Thanks for your reply. I’ve just tried sculpting another pair of shoes and it worked. So i think the issue is with the actual shoes, not CC. If i come across the issue again I will certainly send a video and the file

Hi,
I experiment the same issue with Worker Jacket (worker-jacket_662793) from marketplace (made by Reallusion3D).
Butons are far away from the jacket so I moved them and when I quit editing mode, they don’t keep the new position. They doesn’t really get back to initial position. And each time I edit a button on jacket, others buttons move too.
Any clue ?

Hi drim_RESERVED,

We tried to reproduce the issue but were unable to do so on our end.

Could you please record a video showing your complete workflow and send it along with your project file? You may email them to winnerhung@reallusion.com or share a download link with us.

This will help our team investigate the issue further.

Thank you!

Hi,

I send you an email with a video and project file.
I hope it will help.

Thank you !

Hi drim_RESERVED,

Got it! Please allow us sometime to get into your file. We will update you once anything is updated.

Thanks

Hi drim_RESERVED,

We’ve reviewed the issue. Aaron’s proportions differ from those of the base character used to create the Worker Jacket, which is why the buttons appear to pop out. The jacket also has Rigid Conform applied.

Here are two options you can try:

  1. Set the Conform value to 1, then use Edit Mesh to bring the buttons closer to the pocket. If you later make Aaron’s body fuller, the buttons may deform slightly as they follow the jacket.
  2. Alternatively, use Edit Mesh to adjust the buttons until they align with the pocket. Please note that they may snap back when you exit Edit Mesh.

Please refer to this video for the steps to adjust Conform and a visual demonstration of the result.

We’ll discuss this behavior with our team and look into a better solution.

Thank you!

Hi drim_RESERVED,

To clarify, this is a known issue—the buttons should not protrude from the jacket. In an upcoming update, you’ll be able to use the cloth function to make the rigid elements follow the cloth, keeping the buttons in the correct position on the jacket.
