CC5 Concerns

:grimacing:

As an indie and hobbyist owning a small animation studio… I had a few issues with CC3 then CC3+ and CC4 which was just CC3+ with better shaders… these issues were most topology issues causing animation to look like the Sims 2 game when a character is stretching out their arms for example as the lats and shoulder look awfully incorrect.
Another big issue was the Thumb offset when using Pro animation mocap suits. The thumb always was far and rotated away from the hand.
I contacted Reallusion by mails, reporting tickets, and their social media accounts with pictures showing the issue… and I only got on vague answer that MADE ME JUST WALK AWAY and left Reallusion for good.
The answer was “We are sorry for this common issue… but we won’t be able to solve this thumb issue.” And that was it. :smiling_face_with_tear:

NOW, I see that CC5 and hoping that it’s going to change things using better topology and correct skeleton. But I saw on CC5 promo page that it still uses CC3+ topology?!!! Seriously?
Correct me if I’m wrong.

I don’t know if this just to speed up CC software line CC6 then CC7 then CC8 then CC9 matching with iClone 9…?

This is a rigging issue that is only corrected with joint correction morphs that trigger automatically based on joint angles .
These are featured in the Daz genesis figures
(while inside Daz studio) and character rigs in other programs such as Maya and Blender.
So far the CC5 promos have only shown higher mesh details
and more facial morphs but nothing( yet) about improved joint deformations via an automatic joint control system.

Thank you for the feedback. You can see the main new features coming with Character Creator 5 HERE (there will be other enhancements and improvements to be announced nearer the release).

And as usual there will be a trial version of CC5 available after release so you will be able to test it out yourself to see if it meets your requirements.

Did you have a release date? or did I miss seeing it.

It will launch in July, see Purchase FAQ #15 here: The Best 2D and 3D Animation Software Store | Reallusion

Which day exactly wasn’t specified yet, at least to my knowledge.
