Added a Sketchfab viewer for each character to the Promo Materials for everyone who wants to take a “closer look” on the morphs. (walkcycles included in the animation dropdown). Enjoy!

I noticed that all these characters are heavily muscled, which may not always be desirable (for example, on the horse morph, the head looks a bit too small for the size of the body). Do the morphs allow for a leaner, more toned, and less-bulging look for the body?

Hi. That’s a really good point, thanks for the question. As all the CWS characters are made of partial body morphs, it’s quite easy to adjust the shapes to your liking. I quickly created this video and played a bit with the CWS Horse Morphs together with the default CC morphs. Hope that helps.

Btw, all CWS characters are also provided as CC Projects, that are available for trial. Just download to test and play around with them.

These feedback/questions are very welcomed and much appreciated as they help to improve/update current packs and will make future packs even better (and there are already some more in production  ) Thanks a lot again.

Just an early WIP preview for the furry skin textures. More detailed shots coming soon!

It does; thank you.

Well, not having realistic-looking hair/fur in iClone, texture-based approximations (even those using tessellation) are probably always going to be something of a problem/compromise. Even card-based hair or fur is not without issues. If I want to give a character body hair/fur, I’ll do that outside of iClone (in C4D in my case).

I agree, fur and hair is always a bit problematic, but I think it isn’t just a problem of CC/iClone. Even if a program has an advanced hair creation tool you’ll need the knowledge to master it and it often doesn’t perform in Realtime. I can’t say anything about C4D, as I haven’t worked with it yet, but if it works for you and you are satisfied then definitely go for it. The great thing about CC/iClone is, that they offer lots of ways to create the final image via plugins etc., so everyone can build their preferred production pipeline.

For me CC/iClone are still the tools of choice as they offer an easy workflow and quick results. And also I have worked for a long time with them, I think I barely scretched the surface of what is possible and I like to find ways to push the limits a bit for my creations.

That said, the CWS skin textures making good progress, but I still need a bit time to finish them. So a little more patience for those who are interested.

In the meantime enjoy this little appetizer ;). (Still WIP, final version may differ a bit)

Textures (by themselves) can work reasonably well for short fur, like you showed in your WIP preview; long hair/fur is more of an issue. And even for use with hair in a different program, such as C4D, I’d still like to have textures (as a reference and to color the hair/fur), so I never said I wouldn’t be interested in them. (I must admit, I haven’t done much with “fur” in quite a while.)

Besides, I don’t do “real time”—sure, it’d be nice to have, but it’s not in the cards at this time, at least not for my workflow.

Hi Everyone.

As I’m a little bit behind my initially planned release schedule for the CWS Pro Skin & Add-ons Pack I just wanted to give a quick update.

I’m still working on the details of the assets to provide the best user-experience and visual quality. As I’d set up a brand new production pipeline for these assets, time is really slipping away during testing and fine-tuning all the little details. But I’m in the final stage and everything should be ready for release very soon.

To keep the tension high here are some additional previews of the current stage.
