Can't terminate suspended process after iClone crash

Hi there!

I’ve been experiencing this really annoying issue when after crash iClone/CC4 becomes a suspended process. By no means can I terminate it. I’ve tried many ways on how to end suspended process in windows but all in vain. The only working solution so far is the reboot PC, but I often use remote machine and sometimes it is hard to regain connection (IP address change etc.)

Can Reallusion please provide a working solution for this frustrating issue? Dunno perhaps a termination file or whatever without necessity to reboot the PC…

Cheers
Marek

Hi Marek

Please contact Technical Support about this issue and please provide your system dxdiag.txt log file. They will then be able to check for any issues that may be contributing to the the crashing and advise you further. Thanks.

when this happens to me ( on iclone 7, or any other program for that matter ) I open the task manager / processes - I then look for the culprit and hit end program - works 90% of the time, the few times it doesn’t either needs a few moments to terminate itself, or a reboot - works most of the time for me though

I have the same problem with CC4. Even close normally CharacterCreator is suspended. Have solved your problem?

Nope.

I found something about my problem. When I stop Windows Audio Service it works fine. I can start and stop CC4 without any suspend. Support suggested me to delete temp files. My problem is about audio resources. When CC4 starts, it hooks an audio resource and cannot release it. It is too annoying. I wrote a script to stop windows audio service, start CC4 and start windows audio service. CC3 works fine. I uninstalled all reallusion apps and reinstall them. It is still the same. suspended.

It may have to with the setting described here:

https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/how-to-disable-exclusive-mode-in-windows-sound-settings/#How-to-disable-Exclusive-Mode

There is an Exclusive Mode for Windows Audio, which, when checked, may cause the lock up.

I disabled Exclusive audio for all input and output devices. Still suspended. I hope Reallusion can solve this problem on CC5.
