Cannot add custom expression slider - get error

I am using a CC3_Base_Plus character in CC5 and have a CC4 Extended facial profile on the character. Whenever I try to add a custom slider I get the following error: The base mesh is identical to the target shape. No expression slider added.

I tried adding other facial profiles, but nothing changes the error that I am getting. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks

Hi…

If you are trying to add a custom category, please follow the steps explained HERE. This workflow should work fine.

However, if you are trying to modify expressions to create a custom slider, please follow the FBX or OBJ guides.

Hopefully these will help. :slightly_smiling_face:

In a previous project I used CC4 Camila and was able to make custom category and morphing sliders without having to go through an external software. With the CC5 character you are also able to do that apparently, but now trying the CC4 or CC3 characters none work. I need to make the sliders within CC5 without going through an external software as I just need to make lip letter shapes that are not part of Visemes as it is for another language than English.

Having again this issue for another character, again I just want to make custom sliders WITHIN CC5 as I have done using the CC5 character, but now using the TRex I get the same error. So still waiting for your response

Because the links that you show one does not export the model with blendshapes when in OBJ format, something I need to create custom lip letter shapes and not editing the mesh itself, just the movement of the mouth which is based on the jaw movements etc that CC5 already provides, but I need to make new blendshapes. Going the fbx route exporting to Blender doesn’t work as it doesn’t allow me to export in that case mouth open as morph and without that when importing the fbx into blender the mouth/jaw doesn’t open, which is the one thing I need for letter shapes…
