Hello guys, I just began learning animation and I currently have troubles to blend in 2 different animations. The character should walk into a scene and then start doing something (could be dancing for example). But once the 2nd animation starts after the walk, the character would teleport back to where the character started the walk.
So how can I make the character stay where the character walked to and how I blend both animations so it looks natural together?
At the top of the timeline, there is an option of Align Position or Align Position and Direction; make sure one of those is checked (I think I keep Position and Direction checked; however, if that doesn’t work, try checking just Align Position). That should automatically align the character at the beginning of the next animation where the previous one stopped.
IMPORTANT: If you already have the next animation on the timeline when you check the Align Position option, you will have to delete it and reapply it.
If, for whatever reason, this still doesn’t work, then right click the next animation on the timeline, and choose Align from the menu, and then you will choose what body part you want to align. For example, if the right foot is the one that is planted at the end of the previous animation, then you want to align the right foot or right toe, whichever one is appropriate. The character will then pop to where the previous animation ended, instead of going back to the root.
I hope this makes sense and helps out.
