Hello everyone,
First of all, sorry for the long read ahead, but I’d like to briefly introduce myself again here. I actually created a topic on the old version of the forum, already 8 years ago, about a film I was working on. It’s a shame I can’t “bump” it anymore, after all this time, it would have been fun to see it again ![]()
So, here’s my background: I’m a former French machinima maker. I started by creating a few short films using The Movies, then moved on to Moviestorm. After taking a long break, I decided at the end of 2018 to start a much bigger project: a feature film made with iClone, which I originally estimated would run for around 1 hour, but which will ultimately reach about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Naively, I thought it would take me less than a year to complete everything. But with all the possibilities offered by the software, I realized after spending a full year working only on the environments that I was far from being done. Being a complete beginner in animation, 3D modeling, texturing, and so on, I spent a lot of time tinkering, experimenting, modifying, reworking, and reworking again.
So here I am, 8 years later, finally ready to share this film… Obviously, it’s not perfect. I did the best I could with my current skills, but I hope the final result will still be enjoyable.
The film is 99% complete. It is largely hand-animated and was created entirely using iClone 7 and Character Creator 3. It is dubbed in French and will have English subtitles (and probably Spanish subtitles as well).
Synopsis:
Jude is a lonely teenager living in an island town. This summer, his island is unusually quiet. Like every year, some people have left for the holidays. But this year, a major event will also plunge the island into a strange and unusual atmosphere. It is during this suspended moment that Jude will meet Angie. The two teenagers, who had never really crossed paths before, will get to know each other and try to live their lives normally, while the world around them begins to change.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank @justaviking, who, back then, took the time to help me and gave me valuable advice on optimizing the loading times of some of the environments.
Now, without further ado, while waiting for the release of the film, which is expected in a few weeks, here is a short trailer to give you an idea of what it will look like:
