Amy is struggling with her wide skirt

Hello, dear forum members,

Amy is already on her way. She’s a CC5+ character. She’s still struggling with her wide skirt.

After yesterday’s update, it’s become more difficult. Whenever I rotate the view, I have to let the animation run 2 or 3 times before the skirt falls correctly again. If I stop the animation, the physics seem to suddenly turn off and the skirt jumps to a new position. It only stays in place at the very end. This is annoying because you can’t render photos in the middle of the animation.
If you have any tips on how to prevent this, please let me know.

Best regards,
Tesira

I’ve been having the same problem with the look at camera or target feature. There seems to be a glitch. I have to “scrub” the timeline before it takes effect. Are you using the RTX Beta version?

I tested a couple of projects with latest iClone update and do not see any unusual behavior. Dress sim would freeze (when I pause) at current frame and do not reset unless I scrub along timeline (which is normal behavior).
Generally if I need to freely take screenshots at various parts of the animation I would bake Soft Cloth physics and then disable it. If animation needs to be tweaked though, I have to enable soft cloth, bake again and disable it. Now I may scrub along timeline and never loose baked sim.
I would also strongly discourage working with physics in CC, where there is not much of the timeline and animation control as we have in iClone.

hi 4u2ges,
thanks, bake animation has worked. I have set it in the project properties and activated the frame by frame calculation. After switching of the physics, it has worked well.

And we kept struggling with the belt. It didn’t work as a separate piece in the animations. In the end, integrating it into the dress helped.
