This guy has effectively re-created Reallusion’s
“Motion Director” system inside of Blender
I love how versatile Blender is, but damn the animation tools are very unintuitive. Admittedly, I’ve never been a heavy blender user, I use it to make small static meshes or edits to character models generated in other programs. The few times I’ve tried to use it for animation have just been a frustrating experience. Iclone (and cascadeur) have just made more sense to me.
With all that said, this is very cool.
This looks absolutely great. I love how the Blender community comes together. I’ll definitely keep an eye on how this little project develops further.
When it comes to animation, Blender in its basic form is… quite limited, that’s true. However, once you master it and support it with a few add-ons, it turns into a powerful (and much lighter than, say, Maya) machine. If I had to recommend something that absolutely transforms working in it, it would be the “Animation Layers” add-on. A total game-changer.
Thanks. I’ll look into it. I really should give it another shot at some point lol.
