Adjusting mesh to bone and Edit Mesh issue

Hi all-

I’m trying to rig a mechanical hand to the character bone and there is one section that doesn’t want to be near the bone (see attached image).

I’ve tried everything I can think of (adjusting the bond position, reweight painting etc.) - EXCEPT I can’t seem to EDIT MESH without other parts of my character shifting (see attached image).

Any help would be much appreciated!

My first thought would be to try the mechanical hand as a glove, but perhaps you do that already. I mentioning this because there is a mechanical hand as glove available as content:

Thanks for the reply. Yes I tried it as a glove. The difference with the hand I’m making is that I want the segmented parts of the fingers. The rest of the hand currently work fine. Its just that end of the pinky I can’t seem to get in the right place.

It’s hard to tell exactly what’s causing the offset from the image alone.
