AccuFACE 2

@peter

Hi Peter . Do you have some information about a release date of the AccuFACE 2 ? And do you think that it could came without the needed of Iclone 9 ?

I too am interested in knowing what the estimated time frame for its release is. I have a project that I would love to use AccuFACE 2 on.

It’s very confusing today for me about the announce of the new Iclone personal

At 28 second we can see the accuFACE 2 , but on the store :

It is called AccuFACE AI… Is it the same ? I don’t want to spend 250$ if it’s not accuface 2.

If anyone can shed some light on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

I understand the confusion. I’m honestly not too happy with how things are going either.

There has been such a strong push for AI Studio, despite the concerns and issues many users have already expressed about it. Now it feels like major changes are being made to push that direction even further, including adding a free version of iClone to bring new users into the 3D-to-AI workflow.

Meanwhile, many of us have paid for iClone, Character Creator, plugins, assets, and other parts of the ecosystem for years. We supported the main 3D tools, and now it feels like those existing users are being sidelined in favor of this new AI push.

What bothers me most is seeing features many of us have been waiting for in our traditional 3D pipeline, like RTX Render, being included as part of an AI Studio marketing video instead of having their own separate announcement focused on iClone and Character Creator as 3D tools.

I don’t say this lightly, but if this direction keeps going, I really do hope stronger alternatives to iClone and CC become available, because I need reliable tools for my actual production work.

I assume I can pre-order it now (the details look amazing) but it’s confusing enough that I’ll just wait a few more weeks til this is fully announced.

I agree with the other poster who said they don’t want the AI aspect to overtake the 3D component. For the moment I don’t think generative AI looks good or consistent enough, and it’s not cost-effective to use something that I don’t like and audiences aren’t accepting. 3D tools that use AI like the QuickMagic motion capture plugin are a completely different story: that’s fantastic and it’s approaching perfection far faster than gen AI overlay/rotoscoping.

I remain a big fan of Reallusion and iClone and I’m excited for the upcoming cycle though.

Funny to see that my Accuface 2 thread become an AI topic… :upside_down_face:

But regarding a mail from Reallusion I received yesterday it seems that there will be an open beta RTX rendering will be avalaible late July.
I hope there will be an Accuface 2 too.

It’s hard not to mention AI, or at least how many of us feel about it, because it is appearing throughout a lot of Reallusion’s current messaging.

Even in the AccuFACE 2 clip, the facial motion capture examples appear to use AI-generated or AI-enhanced videos rather than normal real-world footage. That makes it harder to judge how well the actual facial capture performs in everyday use.

I use AccuFACE regularly in my own work, so a newly improved version would be great. My concern is that it may end up being tied to credits or AI services, rather than simply being an improved version of the tool we already use.

I also tested Accuface but the results were, in my case, of lower quality than using UDK’s Link Face and Tobby Miller’s plugin to import it into iClone.

I think something is coming regarding the Accuface store page :

And in the 16 days you posted this question not one reply letting you know about this from RL. You find it yourself like that. Well least we have an idea thanks for sharing. Hopefully its a good update from the last.
