A bone-based hand in Cartoon Animator 5 (CA5) can hold a stick?

Hi! I need to make a farmer hold a plowing tool. How can a bone-based hand hold it so the thumb goes over the handle and the palm with four fingers goes underneath, to look like a natural grip? Thank you!

Ive made a number of videos on this subject which you can find on my Youtube channel THis is one of the videos that will resolve this for you - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxgzIGrro3k&t=4s

Thank you! the link was really helpful! So it’s a sprite change, like with sprite-based hands. I thought there might be a way to switch layers in bone-based hands when adding a prop to the extended bone from the hand nub.

No problem. Yeah, the entire hand is one layer, and anything it is holding is another seperate later. Thats means the obejct can be behind the hand, or in front of the hand, but not IN the hand with the fingers wrapped round it. So therefore a new sprite is required. Theres always a solution to every problem!

When are we going to get an update to Cartoon Animator. I would love to have a 3D camera and lighting in CTA 6. AI is cool only if it helps the animator and not take away. There will be Ai regulations especially with all the copyright infringement going on.

There is currently no information on any updates coming for CTA. It would be great to see an AI pipeline be added to a future version.
