3 Doors of Horrors: Fortune Mansion now on YouTube

Here’s my first full-length 3D animation, 3 Doors of Horrors: Fortune Mansion, completed late last year.

It’s the result of about two years of learning animation with iClone 8 and Unreal Engine 5. I’ve always believed that the best way to learn is simply to make something, so I decided to take on a full project and figure things out along the way.

The process was definitely challenging as a non-animator, but it forced me to learn, experiment, and eventually develop a workflow that works for the kind of projects I want to create.

It’s far from perfect, but I’m happy that I managed to turn two years of learning into something watchable. So please enjoy the effort!

It depends on the kind of link you use (yours seems to include a play list reference). This should work:

Congratulations, I really enjoyed it!

Beautiful cinematography, the pacing is good, the sound design creates a great atmosphere, and I also really appreciated the attention to the lighting.

There’s just one thing I might have refined a little further: the characters’ idle poses. They feel a little too static. Often, a few very subtle breathing movements can help break up that slightly “robotic” feeling.

Great work overall! I was a little worried at first by the description mentioning “horror comedy,” since that’s not an easy balance to pull off, but I think you got the tone just right.
