HERE I GO AGAIN!!!
I’m starting on the 2026 Reallusion 3D Character Contest - A project I’m calling : The Adversary.
At this stage I’m not sure whether I’m entering under Character Design category or under the AccuRIG Characters section.
Like last time I’m going to build 2 characters - a female protagonist and her adversary - hence the title.
- The Warrior - I’m starting with the base cc5 Female African which I will then be building hair and personalized accessories for, (final concept and backstory of which I’m still working on which will be documented on later posts)
2)The Flesh Stealer - a bipedal creature/demon concept sketch I did a while back which I call Flesh Demon - which I will fully realize in 3D and then use AccuRIG to fully setup for animation (Caveat - assuming I manage my time well, if not then the Warrior will be my final entry), I will need to double check whether AccuRIG supports more than 4 limbs and a tail - still lots to learn there
Form a time management point I should probably start one character then move onto the other - but GOSH DARN this is for funzies and more learning so I will be working my way through both. Also my final goal is to get the characters in Unreal Engine - using the supplied pipeline from Character Creator
My usual workflow, Blender to Zbrush (via GoB), Substance painter, CC5 Bridge and Accurig and UE.

Sounds really cool! For the tail, you might have to make it an accessory with spring bones. I know Peter Alexander (Mythcons) recently did a video on that for some bunny ears. (Pretty sure that’s on the Reallusion YT channel) Thinking about it, you might have to do the extra arms that way, too, only with regular bones, not spring.
Anyway, looking forward to seeing this!

Thanks 3DChick - for the tips on Accurig and Flesh stealer notes - yep the secondary arms will be mostly for show, so a great idea.
I will working on my backstory and refining the design from the rough block out and further refining my references to guide me.

Looks nice! Loving the difference in scale between the flesh eater and the warrior. It looks quite interesting. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out!
Messing about with some hair in blender - trying to do a dredd -fro mohawk.

OK - I’m getting a bit bogged down with obsessing over the design on her - The Warrior - just going to keep it simple - and define her look as “Diesel Punk Afro-Futurism”
She will have two main accessories her mask/gasmask/helmet and her weapon

Wip demon - proof of design in progress - I should probably record my progress - gah

The teeth, tongue and gums are from the base CC5 character -
Body blocked out - proportional changes and additional sculpted anatomy details still to come, legs will be more of a dog leg setup - which I know can be problematic. Will probably need to jump into AccuRig and play with the WIP base geo make sure it will work when I bring the final asset into the Reallusion working environment.

Quick and nasty test in AccuRig Free - I guess most of the heavy lifting will be done in blender/CC5 testing, time to do some more RnD.

Proof of movement using library - yep great for standard biped setup, ha!
Wish me luck getting this non standard character working - what was I thinking?

Yeeeaaahh, I tried to make a CC4 Dragon last year. Sigh.
