Hi,
Unlike the transition from CC3 to CC4, CC4 and CC5 share the same core content system. You do not need to create a separate installation folder—content is automatically compatible across both versions, with no overwrite issues.

CC5 Adds Data That CC4 Can’t Read
While CC5 content can be edited in CC5, it includes new elements like HD morphs and ActorMIXER that CC4 won’t recognize. However, CC5 is designed to preserve compatibility:
When you edit a CC4 asset in CC5 and save it, the original CC4 data will be retained. That means you can still open and use the same file in CC4 afterward.
Organizing Content for Peace of Mind
If you want to fully separate your CC4 and CC5 content, we recommend using the Multiple Custom Folder feature. You can designate one folder for CC4 and another for CC5 to avoid any confusion during your workflow.
