Hi,
Sometimes when I’m trying to make a keyframe animation, when I click on a body part and try to move it, the body part make a quick jump to a nearby location.
Has anyone else experienced this? It makes it very difficult to do even the simplest animation. Is there something I could be doing wrong?
You have to select your character, go to the modify panel and either turn off or adjust the spring settings in the modify section, depending on the spring physics of the animation itself. This will set a keyframe and keep the animation from slipping at that particular instance.
I think it has something to do with the Inverse Kinematics (IK) as well. I get it a fair bit. Usually I have to reposition the adjoining limb and try again in attempt to get the desired pose in these circumstances.
If iClone thinks you over extending a joint in relation to another - for example twisting the forearm too far outward without adjusting the upper arm, then it will tend to jump.
Thanks for the possible solution! I was having this issue yesterday and I checked on the spring settings but they were already off by default.
Thanks! I was trying to do something similar to this and I found that maybe repositioning the hip or spine works to some degree. I continue to mess around with idea as the issue comes up.
