Hi everyone,
Today I want to share a showcase that walks through a full Daz to CC5 pipeline for building original stylized characters. It follows Malaysia-based designer CYING as she builds one character, Bu Ra En, from a Daz base all the way to an animation-ready original, then shows how the same steps scale to a whole cast. The pipeline runs on Daz 3D, Character Creator 5, and Blender, with CC5 sitting at the center as the hub, and I think it’s a really clear look at how to stay original while working fast.
Who’s behind this?
CYING is a multimedia designer and 3D character creator based in Malaysia, specializing in original characters, stylized digital humans, animation, and visual design. Rather than commit to a single tool, CYING favors a hybrid pipeline that borrows the strengths of Daz 3D, Character Creator 5, and Blender, using CC5 as the hub that ties the whole process together.
What’s the workflow about?
- Pick a Genesis 9 base and a matching full-body tattoo texture in Daz 3D
- Convert the Daz character into CC5 using Transformer, carrying over body, face, textures, hair, and clothing
- Reshape face, jawline, expression, and proportions with CC5 morph tools
- Test tattoos, skin materials, and clothing together in CC5 for balance across angles
- Build custom accessories and props that no library offers in Blender
- Combine everything and run pose, expression, and animation checks back in CC5
