Thank you. But i can only find iproject file.
Sorry, I already deleted the beta, I need the space for Iclone project I’m doing
opening a custom character caused the crash, it was loading it for a while, the character model appeared white without textures and then it crashed while loading some “images” and then Windows said a text: “Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart” and restarted
Good point. Now that I look at what I was using, it was not the RTX lighting. I guess it is not there.
I cant switch to RTX mode, its greyed out.
I installed according to instructions : Unzipped downloaded folder, ran iClone from the bin folder, then did Project Settings → General.
Render engine is greyed out.
I tried restarting PC, and also extracted the folder again (to desktop this time), but Render engine remains greyed out.
PC Specs: Nvidia Studio driver 610.88, RTX3080, i9-10850k, 32GB Ram, 300GB+ free SSD space,
Here are my before and after pictures:
This one is with DX11.
This one is with RTX.
I don’t know about you, but see a noticeable improvment. I did have a slight learning curve at first with Iclone and CC5 crashing on rendering images. I had my viewport on high, and was trying to render in 4k with max texture, and crashed a few times. So, after turning down the viewport setting, I was able to get to 2k on max textures, and will try 4k next.
I used a 4070 laptop with 8GB vram.
Hi, linus10111
Can you try to turn off the Progressive Texture Loading then load the other project to test?
Hi, Sp3c1alk
I can load it into CC using the ccProject file you provided.
I also tried exporting it as an iAvatar and loading it into iClone, and it still works.
Hi, linus10111
Please try the following:
- Open the official version of iClone.
- Disable Progressive Loading.
- Close the official version.
- Launch the iClone RTX Beta again.
Hopefully, this will resolve the issue.
Thanks, it works now. You might want to add this into the troubleshooting guide.
Hi, just a question about installation. When extracting the RTX beta zip file to the installation directory, should the new files overwrite the previous installation files ?
Hi, borgman
No, please don’t do that, just keep them separately
No. These are completely separate apps to your existing apps. So these new folders should be two new folders in your program files directory under Reallusion and the folder should look like this when you are done
Character Creator 5
iClone 8
CC5_RTX_Beta1_(whatever number)
iClone8_RTX_Beta1_(whatever number)
Shared Plugins
You then go into the new folders and generate 7desktop shortcuts from the exe. files and move them to your desktop. You should be good to go then (after you install the other two folders to your Reallusion Custom content folder of course)
Thanks guys! Will do.
Thanks for offering this beta version. I am looking forward to using it. I am 45 minutes into the installation. I have searched my software and my account for a hint as to whether I have a personal, perpetual or subscription license. I still don’t know, so an explanation of those terms would be helpful. I have just learned here in the forum that the beta is a separate program, rather than an upgrade, which would also have been helpful to know.
Your installation guide stated open the file and the application is ready to use. The next sentence stated you need to copy files to your custom folder, which means that the application was not ready to use. Again, I appreciate the opportunity to use the beta. A few more sentences of explanation in the installation guide, and perhaps even a few screenshots would certainly expedite the time and diminish the frustration. Thanks
I keep getting these error messages. The first upon starting either CC or Iclone, the other is one of about nine error messages that pop up when I load a character. They haven’t caused any problems as yet I just press OK and they go away, but if I could fix it and get rid of them altogether would be preferable.
RTX Render still has the weirdness when loading a new Lightroom Preset that causes the camera to lose its place and reset.
