Yeah, for my little hobby projects (if and when I get back to them), I’d rather deal with AI than with real people. Besides, I don’t like to ask people to do free favors for me and my stuff doesn’t get enough views so that the “exposure” would make it worthwhile for aspiring voice actors to donate their time and effort. Moreover, I’m not much of a planner and don’t work with a script or so, so that would make working with “humans” in an organized/coordinated manner also more difficult.
Things might be different, if I had a steady pool of “talent” (friends, family) that would be interested in doing voice-over work and be willing to accommodate my chaotic style, but I don’t.

Same here, particularly certain “types” that may not share my world view and may chaffe at recording certain dialogue.
This was a big problem in the anime industry
where you had certain American activists who were hired to do english Dubs of popular anime series
and were actually changing dialogue to be more inline with their western/leftists political ideologies
But now AI voice generation has become so good just in the last 2 years that the anime studios
are using AI for their english dubs.
