Licence Query

I have seen a few Licence related queries and have read the documentation but haven’t found a definitive answer to these questions:

  1. Can I use a still image (and perhaps a video) of a character I have created using Character Creator or Iclone in any way I want? I will not be selling the character or using the topology or character rig and just want to use the characters for YouTube and social media?

  2. Are there any restrictions on using a still image/video of a character I have created in any 3rd party software? I’m thinking of perhaps using Runway or Capcut.

  3. Do I own the copyright of characters I create? So, could I use a character I have created on a T-shirt for instance? And if this was commercial, would a standard licence cover this?

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks!!

Craig

Hi Craig

Here are the answers to your questions:

  1. All Reallusion content is royalty free for use in image or media form. So you can use your rendered images or videos for commercial use without any further remuneration to Reallusion.

  2. You can freely use the images or videos in any software you wish. One thing that isn’t permitted however is to transfer the license of the images or videos to a 3rd party. For example, you can’t transfer the license to a Stock Image or Stock Video library.

  3. In image or video form yes. This is all covered by the Standard License.
