Sorry but I’ve no idea regarding Omniverse because I’ve never used it and have no requirement for it.
Hi All,
As our first AI subscription service, we noticed that AccuPOSE INFINITY has aroused a few concerns for our users.
We would like to clarify that the free plugin AccuPOSE CORE itself is fully functional and accessible for all iClone 8.52 users, It can do exactly what is demonstrated on the product page. Check out AccuPOSE product page with the link below.
As a constantly updating AI service, AccuPOSE INFINITY generates different results based on different training models, and there will only be more in the future to fulfilll all possible scenarios. Therefore, to fullfill our mission of bringing you more training models continously, we decided to make it a subscription service. Check out the upcoming release with the link below.
We also want to make a clear statement that, all main programs including iClone, Character Creator and Cartoon Animator will remain perpetual licensed. Please do not worry about any adjustment on Reallusion basic product policy.
Last but not least, hope you all enjoy AccuPOSE!
You’re still promoting 30% off on an Infinity subscription but the link to subscribe to Accupose Infinity no longer has the subscription price and the link to subscribe is just an endless loop. I’ve found no way to subscribe. This is very annoying.
Hi ZileAndBea
Apologies for the inconvenience caused.
There does appear an issue with the subscription process. We will get this fixed as soon as possible.
If the models run locally on the computer you should still offer a perpetual buyout option. You’ll get the money for development back by selling the product after release.
I don’t think anybody has a problem with subscriptions or credits if it’s going to run in the cloud where servers are constantly up and running.
But running on the computer it doesn’t make sense to pay ‘forever’. I’m not a friend of the motto “you’ll own nothing and be happy”.
Because you are “renting” a “service” with the infinity option with the tacit promise of regular updates to the “service” as it is developed by Reallusion Acquiring new AI Data sets
(at their on going expense) to improve the AI’s Accupose with new options.
Like the world of still image art, the world of animation is radically changing because of AI and it seems that companies like Reallusion need new monetization strategies.
Cascadure now has it’s motion Data export version behind an annual or monthly paywall as well as they just Added AI assisted ragdoll collision physics.
Cascadeur is rent-to-own. The user keeps the last version after they pay for a year. You don’t need to pay more.
If Accupose models would be rent-to-own, that would be fine for me. Accupose as a subscription plus a perpetual option is fine to me as well. Reallusions can offer both subscription and perpetual. The more options, the better.
Just to name a fair price for a perpetual license (I currently don’t remember how much it was, because the page with the subscription price doesn’t load correctly for me) if it was $90 for one year I could see a fair price by around $229-$279 for perpetual license for the content currently available, so about 2.5-3 times the subscription price. That is also be in the same ballpark as usual DLC for CC and iClone and nothing unusual.
Thanks. I 'm not used to this forum yet, didn’t actually mean to address this specifically to you, meant it as a general question. Sorry, but thanks for responding.

I wonder what happens with your “paid off” perpetual license
when a NEW version with more advance features
is released.
they don’t say if there is a cost to upgrade your perpetual license in the future.

I see your perspective as a consumer
But I do understand that reallusion needs some predictable monthly revenue Just as Daz has decided the same with their new $19 “premium version of Daz studio.
The old Retail business models are dead or soon dying so yeah ,anything that is utilizing an AI driven data base will likely be subscription only going forward IMHO.
You need again to buy it for one month or one year if you really want the new features which is acceptable. You can then also keep the last version if you pay again for one year. And if your financial situation changes you can cancel and keep using the software you paid for without further updates.
I’m not sure if you saw my previous comment where I made a suggestion about the perpetual price. I think that 2.5-3 times of the subscription price is fair to get the content of one year perpetually.
It’s a huge difference between paying once and using the software as long as you want and paying 10 years and then it gets taken away from you because something happens (service shutdown, personal financial situation, even financial sanctions may happen where you no longer are able pay if you live in certain countries etc.)
There is that. Also, what happens if Reallusion goes out of business? I already worry about any software that wants to “phone home” regularly and I would like Reallusion to comment on what would happen in such a case. Would the “final” update to iClone/CC be a permanent version that runs offline “forever”? What about any assets purchased via the Content Store/Marketplace? What would happen if my local version of iClone/CC could no longer reach the RL servers to verify that I purchased the content I want to use?
I prefer the traditional method: a software that comes with a key that use to install it. With this i will never have to worry about a company disappearing from earth all over sudden which has happened thousands of times before. All that online verification and first of all “subscriptions” make me feel uncomfortable. A PC can die as well one day and if the company is dead by then, there is no way to get a purchased software running again. Though i understand the piracy issue with simple keys, but just look around the web how much onlline software they hack.
I personally will never “subscribe” to anything unless i make money it.
PS: In my personal opinion subscription models are not very honest because they know the everage user typically forgets to cancel subscriptions or forgets important dates. Anyone can imagine what that means money wise.
Yeah, If Reallusion stopps operating someday (hopefully not) an option would be a final offline patch. I already encountered that with certain software. The developers were nice enough to remove the online check with the last update before they vanished.
But I also encountered some situations where developers tried to sunset legacy software by disabling the activation servers and then you were out of luck. One developer was even so bold to change the EULA retroactively, where it originally stated that an alternative method will be deployed to activate legacy software in case the original activation method is deactivated. This passage was silently removed but was still visible via Wayback Machine which produced an outrage among the customer base. So they had to backtrack, also because of legal reasons.
The reality is that subscriptions ,in some form or another, are the future.
I have accepted it for certain entire programs
Like my $300/yr Maya “indie” license.
or AI generation services that allow me to buy single months at a time for a project
But for addons & downloaded content that “calls home” and refuse to function if you miss a rent payment…No.
Now you can still do alot with the core Iclone 8 application
and the freebie Auto pose presets
but over time it may be cheaper for Iclone users to pay $100 up front for an indie license of cascadure with FBX export capability
you get the same AI Auto pose functionality
and the new ragdoll collision physics but there is the extra hassle of working with an external program …so pick your poison.
I cannot find a post where users are reporting bugs and issues on the new update for Iclone. The previous versions reported a lot of problems with crashing. Has the new 8.52 update been running pretty smoothly?
I asked the same question before, I think this category can be used for it.
Maybe someone needs to open a thread like “Iclone 8.52 Issues and Bug Discussions” or something.
I have a doubt. I have the Parkour pack (and others) and it is grayed out in AccuPose, I have to subscribe to have it enabled?
Maybe I’m wrong, but I understand that the “styles” available for AccuPose depend on what is available for free and as part of the AccuPose subscription and not on what motions you do or don’t own.
Again, I could be wrong, but I would not be surprised if RL used the various motion packs to train the AccuPose AI and to help iClone users select the “correct” AccuPose style by using a similar name for the style, especially if used in combination with one or more of the motions packs available separately.
I have done just a bit of experimenting with accupose, using the free core motions, just to try to get a handle on what to expect.
So far, I have not been that impressed with the basics, though it’s early going and there are a lot of options I have not explored. I expect it will prove very useful as I figure out what everything does. Really could use some more in-depth tutorials, which I expect will be coming eventually.
