Reallusion announced the official release of AI Studio 1.1, a major architectural and feature update designed to transform how digital creators integrate generative AI into 3D-guided workflows. Moving beyond its original embedded execution within iCloneand Character Creator, version 1.1 debuts as a fully standalone application featuring an independent workflow, an expanded AI model suite, and an upgraded dataset engine built for enhanced character consistency.
Unbound from iClone & CC: Experience a Faster Standalone Workflow
Version 1.1 delivers complete operational flexibility across the production pipeline. Artists can now execute AI generation tasks independently without launching iClone or Character Creator, while preserving on-demand access to 3D guidance whenever advanced control is required. In addition, the update streamlines system administration with a centralized Account Settings interface, automated web preset deployment, and customizable asset download modes tailored to specific production archiving workflows.
Dedicated Standalone Application: Accelerates production by executing independently of iClone and Character Creator, drastically reducing operational complexity.
User Data Cloud Synchronization: Provides seamless cross-device access to personal presets, custom user data, and generation histories.
Automated Version & Preset Deployment: Ensures continuous access to the latest application builds, AI models and presets without requiring manual patch installations.
New Models: 30-Sec Video with Seedance 2.5 & Budget-Friendly 2.0 Mini
AI Studio 1.1 expands creative control through extended video durations, higher rendering resolutions, and cost-efficient generation options. Beyond core video generation upgrades, this release introduces full 4K output support across Image Create, Image Edit, Video Create, and 3D to Video. Furthermore, moderated policy guidelines grant creators greater narrative freedom when productions involve certain NSFW contents, such as gunfights and intense verbal exchanges, without encountering generation blocks.
Seedance 2.5 (30-Second Cinematic Video): Generates up to 30-second video sequences across multiple resolutions while preserving strict character and scene consistency across up to 50 reference inputs.
Seedance 2.0 Mini: Introduces a cost-effective model tier priced at 50% of the standard Seedance 2.0 rate, optimized for rapid iteration and generation without unnecessary credit expenditure.
Capture Any Frame: Allows creators to extract any video frame as a starting point or visual reference—ideal for modifying mid-video segments, editing specific scenes, or extending shot continuity.
Upgraded AI Actor Creator: Simplified Workflows & Higher-Quality Datasets
Achieving multi-scene character consistency is now faster and yields significantly higher visual fidelity. AI Studio 1.1 reorganizes character creation into streamlined operational tiers while upgrading core rendering capabilities under the hood. The character module also benefits from an optimized UI, a redesigned AI Actor Library browser, and improved multi-view rendering accuracy.
AI Actor Creator - Basic Mode: Offers the most direct path to creating AI Actors. Users simply upload reference images to auto-generate structured character sheets that maintain consistent visual identity across scenes, with full support for style adjustments or external sheet imports.
Powered by GPT Image 2 Engine: Integrates the updated GPT Image 2 model to significantly enhance rendering accuracy and structural fidelity, producing cleaner reference datasets for downstream AI image and video generation pipelines.
Availability and Access
AI Studio 1.1 provides the speed, flexibility, and control required to optimize professional production pipelines or explore 3D-to-AI workflows for the first time.
Existing Users: Can update directly via the Reallusion Hub to launch the standalone application immediately.
New Creators: Can download AI Studio 1.1 directly from the Reallusion website. Users can also pair the application with iClone Personal (available as a free download) to leverage full 3D-guided control alongside AI generation workflows.
How will new AI Actor handle actors created from previous version? I’ve created almost a dozen actors and am not looking forward to the time/expense of re-creating them…
Also, will the previous version get “removed” from iClone or do we have to do that ourselves?
Yes, you’ll have to ensure that your local history data path is the same as the original path you had setup in the previous version.
When you install the new stand-alone app, it defaults to the iClone default install path Reallusion Custom folder. If you did not change the default, then all you will have to do is click the “Sync Local History” button.
I like the standalone tool! Questions: It appears that the new AI Studio stand-alone app requires us to download the assets after each generation. It doesn’t appear to store them locally like the previous version. If true, then where are the original source and generated images and videos stored, if you have to download after every generation?
Error received during sync: Not able to rework existing images and videos.
How do we remove this from the toolbar after the update and not installing Ai studio add on? I don’t want that taking up the tool bar while I’m working?
Starting from this version, AI Studio’s generation process has been adjusted to operate more like a generative web service. As a result, generated files will no longer be saved directly to your local drive automatically—you will need to download them manually.
We offer a few different download options:
Download Media: Downloads only the generated result.
Download Media & Sources: Downloads the generated result along with the reference files used.
To change your default save location, you can adjust the setting here: Account Settings > Download Path.
You can also download multiple files at once by going to History and clicking Multi-select in the top right corner.
Hi @gordryd ,
AI Actors generated in previous versions can be transferred into the new AI Studio via Sync History. Please make sure your Local History Data Path is correct under Account Settings > Sync History (this path contains all your previously generated content, including images, videos, and AI Actors).
Next, click the Sync Local History button. Once the process is complete, all content from previous versions will appear in your History.
Additionally, AI Studio-related programs have been completely removed from the latest versions of iClone and Character Creator, so users do not need to manually adjust any settings.
Thanks for the quick reply, that’s helpful for understanding the download options, but it doesn’t quite get at what I was asking. My question isn’t about how to get files onto my drive; it’s about what happens to them before I do that.
When AI Studio generates an image or video, that file has to exist somewhere on Reallusion’s side before I can download it. So a few specific questions:
Where are those generated files (and the source/reference files I upload) stored during that window, whose infrastructure, and in what region?
How long do they persist on your servers after generation? Is there an automatic deletion schedule, or do they stay until I take some action?
Does Reallusion or any third-party processor access, retain, or use that content (source uploads or generated output) for any purpose beyond serving it back to me, QA, model training, analytics, etc.?
If I never click download, what’s the retention/deletion timeline for that content?
The reason I’m pushing on this: some of what runs through AI Studio is proprietary character IP for an original production, and “how it moves through your systems” is a real factor in whether we can use the standalone version for that kind of work versus keeping it local-only. I’d rather get a clear answer now than assume.
If this needs to go to your privacy/data team rather than support, I’m happy to be pointed there, or if it’s easier, I can also raise it with privacy and policy team on the licensing side, since it overlaps with a EULA conversation we’re already having.
Thanks for bearing with the follow-up, just want to make sure I understand this correctly before we build workflows around it.
My history has been synced and my old work is there but my AI actors have disappeared. The worked files for the AI Actors and different profile shots are there but when I go to select and use the custom AI actors tab , my previously created AI Actors have vanished.
I have no proprietary character IP BUT I don’t like this Reallusion methodology. If the pictures and video I make with AI Studio are Mine, I own them, then why are they keeping my assets w/o my prior agreement. This feels to me like it was done behind my back and makes me mistrust them, a company I previously liked allot.
Hi @Pete_RL thanks, I did read through Section 4 onward before posting. That’s actually where this comes from.
Section 4 covers IP ownership, and Section 5 covers Public vs. Private visibility and the license grant on Public content, but neither one states where generated output and source uploads are stored server-side, or for how long. Section 5.4 says Reallusion won’t use Private content for marketing/training without consent, but that’s a use restriction, not a retention or storage-location commitment. So the specific question, where’s the data held, and what’s the deletion timeline- isn’t actually answered in the EULA as written.
I got the download-options explanation above, which I understand, so I’ve sent a follow-up to support and privacy policy team with the specific section citations. Happy to share support’s response here once I get a real answer, since it seemed like a fair question for anyone uploading original work. Thanks again.
Some can be emoved by turning them off in the Toolbar Options. Go to Window/Toolbar and unselect AI Studio and maybe the WorkSpace Toggle.
The AI RENDER access is there as part of Iclone -its not AI Studio [ I think ]
