Why would you wait until launch date? Ever since I got into the Reallusion universe with iClone7, I have not paid for software updates (iC7 to iC8, CC3 to CC4) since they always came “free” with the purchase of content I was going to buy anyway. And I pretty much expect the same to be the case for iClone 9, whenever that rolls around.
That RL now also throws in ActorMixer Pro for free was not something I was anticipating when I got my CC5-bonus back in April of this year.
Over several weeks, Reallusion have been pretty much bending backwards trying to get people to make use of the free-CC5-with-purchase offer; if you decided not to, that is your choice. Of course, if you never purchase any other assets from the Content Store and thus could not qualify for this promotional deal, then that is a different matter.
One more thing: I was not aware of anything like ActorMixer Pro until the promo video dropped a few days ago. During the entire time CC5 has been promoted or discussed here in the forum, I don’t recall anybody ever mentioning anything about ActorMixer (Pro). So why do you now feel “cheated” or “treated unfairly”, if you don’t get something for free that you didn’t even know was coming out until a few days ago? So if you were ready to purchase CC5 on launch date, why does that not apply to ActorMixer Pro? As a CC4-upgrader, you do still get a discount of 50 bucks.
